Each year animal shelters take in 6-8 million displaced, lost, or unwanted companion animals. Six out of every ten dogs (and seven out of every ten cats) admitted to U.S. shelters are euthanized due to space limitations, lack of funding, or simply because there is no one to adopt them.
We've all heard the expression "put your money where your mouth is," but I prefer to put my money where my heart is. A portion of every freelance dollar I make is donated to local animal rescue organizations dedicated to improving the lives of unwanted, abandoned, and homeless animals by uniting them with a forever family.
